Our Story
History
donnie l. betts has more than 25 years of experience in theatre, film, radio, and video. Not only is he the founder of No Credits Productions, LLC, but he is also the founding member of two theatre companies in Denver: City Stage Ensemble and Denver Black Arts Company. His impressive filmography goes back to 1993 and beyond. Starting out in radio many years ago, he expanded his horizons very quickly to become a respected actor, director, producer, and documentary filmmaker in Colorado.
He has performed on Broadway in The Gospel at Colonus and in many regional theatre productions. donnie has directed over 30 stage productions as well. Three quarters of those have been regional or world premieres. betts has won numerous film and theatre directing awards — including a Washington DC Filmfest award, SXSW, Denver Film, LA Pan African Film Festival, among others, for Music Is My Life, Politics My Mistress: The Story of Oscar Brown Jr. He is a former commissioner on the Aurora Cultural Arts Commission and a former Board Member of Denver Film.
